The Indian Premier League as we know is a tournament that gives an opportunity to all types of cricketers – be it the experienced and seasoned Indian and Overseas cricketers, or the young and aspirational Indian cricketers. Unlike the other sporting events where money takes centre stage more than the competition, the IPL is one tournament where each team feels competitive, and almost at part with the competition.
The IPL 2025 will be no different as many quality players are a part of the event. But with Indians being the centre of attraction in the Indian Premier League, which team has the best Indian contingent? Well, it always brings for an interesting analysis as teams sometimes are well-balanced, Indian-centric, or Overseas-centric. So, ranking the teams based on their Indian contingent will be an interesting task.
While calculating the rating, we will look at the cumulative rating of the top 10 Indian players in each team. These Indian players can be from any category, and will have their own relative rating basis the benchmark player of their respective category. While every team needs only 7 solid Indian players, they would still need good backups to fall back on. Hence, 10 seems an ideal number for any team to calculate the ranking and rating of their Indian players for IPL 2025.

At number 10, we have SRH with their Indian players rating of 8.275 for IPL 2025. It’s no surprise that SRH are an Overseas players-dominant team, and the Indian players they have are more of young blood. Mohammed Shami, Harshal Patel, and Ishan Kishan are their three best Indian players. Whereas Rahul Chahar, Abhishek Sharma, and Nitish Reddy are almost as good. Given the lack of star power, the Indian contingent is ranked slightly below the competition, but these are all potential players.
