IPL 2025 All 10 Teams Best Pacers and Fast Bowlers Ranking

Mumbai Indians standout in our ranking and rating of the best pacers for all 10 teams for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025.

The 2025 edition of the Indian Premier League is just a few weeks away, but as fans, we are already in a zone where we can’t control the excitement to discuss the teams and players that will be participating in the tournament. One such category of players is Pace bowlers, who are a heartthrob for any team. In general, we see pacers bowling 12-14 overs in a match, and that’s why their role becomes very important in T20 cricket.

This year we will see many quality pacers participating in the tournament. Among the quality options, we will see Jasprit Bumrah and Trent Boult from MI, Arshdeep Singh from PBKS, Mohammed Shami from SRH, Jofra Archer from RR, Matheesha Pathirana from CSK, etc. But which team has the best set of pacers for IPL 2025? And if we had to rate the teams basis their best pacers, how do we go about it?

While ranking each team basis their best pacers, it is important to consider pacers who are good in powerplay overs, middle phase, and death overs. All pacers are relatively rated basis the benchmark, Jasprit Bumrah. Overall, a team need three quality pacers in a playing 11, and two quality backups in case of additional requirement or injury concerns. Thus, considering the weighted-average analysis, we will find the best pacers ranking of each team for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025.

IPL 2025 Ranking and Rating Each Team Best Pacers

#10: Lucknow Super Giants – 8.250

Three Best Pacers for LSG

  1. Mayank Yadav
  2. Mohsin Khan
  3. Avesh Khan

Other Good Pacers

  1. Mitchell Marsh (o)
  2. Shamar Joseph (o)

For number 10, we have Lucknow Super Giants, and there shouldn’t even be a question asked about this. The team has Indian bowlers as the primary and leading pace attack. While all three, Mayank Yadav, Mohsin Khan, and Avesh Khan are quality bowlers, they are still inexperienced, and also injury prone. Hence, overall, LSG find themselves at the number 10 position. The lack of Overseas bowlers may come as a big problem to Pant-led LSG. So, it will be interesting to see how LSG copes with it.

#9: Gujarat Titans – 8.391

Three Best Pacers for GT

  1. Kagiso Rabada (o)
  2. Mohammed Siraj
  3. Prasidh Krishna

Other Good Pacers

  1. Gerald Coetzee (o)
  2. Ishant Sharma
  3. Arshad Khan

For number 9, we have the Gujarat Titans team with Kagiso Rabada, Mohammed Siraj, and Prasidh Krishan as their best pacers. All three, Rabada, Siraj, and Prasidh are experienced, but honestly, Siraj and Praisdh are more suited for red-ball cricket than white-ball cricket. They also do not have an outstanding IPL record to give them a higher rating. Thus, Gujarat Titans find themselves at the 9 position.

#8: Rajasthan Royals – 8.422

Three Best Pacers for RR

  1. Jofra Archer (o)
  2. Tushar Deshpande
  3. Sandeep Sharma

Other Good Pacers

  1. Fazalhaq Farooqi (o)
  2. Kwena Maphaka (o)

Coming to number 8, we have Rajasthan Royals with Jofra Archer, Tushar Deshpande, and Sandeep Sharma as their leading pacers. Honestly, all three pacers are good. But the challenge lies in backups as Fazalhaq or Kwena Maphaka aren’t the most established pacers. Similarly, Tushar is still inexperienced, and Sandeep is inconsistent with his bowling. Thus, overall RR will need their pacers to give their 100%.

#7: Punjab Kings – 8.516

Three Best Pacers for PBKS

  1. Arshdeep Singh
  2. Marco Jansen (o)
  3. Lockie Ferguson (o)

Other Good Pacers

  1. Aaron Hardie (o)
  2. Kuldeep Sen
  3. Marcus Stoinis (o)

Number 7 sees Punjab Kings, and they have Arshdeep Singh, Marco Jansen, and Lockie Ferguson as their leading pacers. All three leading pacers for Punjab Kings are solid options, and are experienced in this format. However, where PBKS lack is backups pacers as the likes of Aaron Hardie, Kuldeep Sen, and Marcus Stoinis aren’t the most established names in the T20 format.

#6: Kolkata Knight Riders – 8.594

Three Best Pacers for KKR

  1. Anrich Nortje (o)
  2. Andre Russell (o)
  3. Harshit Rana

Other Good Pacers

  1. Vaibhav Arora
  2. Spencer Johnson (o)
  3. Umran Malik

Moving on to number 6, we are talking about Kolkata Knight Riders, who have Anrich Nortje, Andre Russell, and Harshit Rana as their best pacers. KKR’s pace attack does look potent on paper with backups also being suited to this format. However, the only issue with them is Russell is more of a jackpot. If he comes good, all is well. If not, you’re back to even. Whereas Harshit Rana, Vaibhav Arora, and even Umran Malik are still inexperienced.

#5: Chennai Super Kings – 8.766

Three Best Pacers for CSK

  1. Matheesha Pathirana (o)
  2. Sam Curran (o)
  3. Khaleel Ahmed

Other Good Pacers

  1. Nathan Ellis (o)
  2. Jamie Overton (o)
  3. Mukesh Choudhary

Coming to the top 5, we have the Chennai Super Kings with Matheesha Pathirana, Sam Curran, and Khaleel Ahmed as their best pacers. CSK have never been a pace-friendly team. Spin is their forte, and for the pace attack, they generally focus on having only 2-3 quality options in their side. The IPL 2025 seems no different for CSK as they have 3 good pacers with decent backups in place. However, compared to the competition, they marginally fall short in the ratings.

#4: Delhi Capitals – 8.797

Three Best Pacers for DC

  1. Mitchell Starc (o)
  2. Mohit Sharma
  3. T. Natarajan

Other Good Pacers

  1. Mukesh Kumar
  2. Dushmantha Chameera (o)

For number 4, we have the Delhi Capitals team with Mitchell Starc, Mohit Sharma, and T Natarajan as their best pacers. Delhi Capitals have a solid pace attack that can bowl in all phases of the match. Starc and Mukesh are solid powerplay bowlers who can swing the ball pretty well. Whereas Natarajan and Mohit Sharma can bowl well in the middle phase of the match, and death overs. While overall quality is good, will DC play four pacers in a match is the question?

#3: Royal Challengers Bengaluru – 8.859

Three Best Pacers for RCB

  1. Josh Hazlewood (o)
  2. Nuwan Thushara (o)
  3. Bhuvneshwar Kumar

Other Good Pacers

  1. Yash Dayal
  2. Lungi Ngidi (o)
  3. Rasikh Dar

For number 3, we have Royal Challengers Bengaluru with Josh Hazlewood, Nuwan Thushara, and Bhuvneshwar Kumar as their leading pacers. All three are solid options for RCB, but it looks difficult for Hazlewood and Thushara to play together. If these two play together, there is nothing like it. If not, Yash Dayal, the alternative isn’t a bad option either with support from Rasikh Dar.

#2: Sunrisers Hyderabad – 8.969

Three Best Pacers for SRH

  1. Mohammed Shami
  2. Harshal Patel
  3. Pat Cummins (o)

Other Good Pacers

  1. Simarjeet Singh
  2. Ehsan Malinga (o)
  3. Nitish Reddy

For the penultimate position, we have Sunrisers Hyderabad with Mohammed Shami, Harshal Patel, and Pat Cummins as their leading pacers. It’s a solid pace attack for SRH with all three potential and experienced bowlers in the side. All three bowlers are wicket-takers, but can also go for runs in the process. But that’s how the SRH bowling lineup is. Unless you are someone like Jasprit Burmah, you can either be good at taking wickets, or good at containing runs, but not both.

#1: Mumbai Indians – 9.094

Three Best Pacers for MI

  1. Jasprit Bumrah
  2. Trent Boult (o)
  3. Deepak Chahar

Other Good Pacers

  1. Hardik Pandya
  2. Reece Topley (o)

Finally, at numero uno, we have Mumbai Indians with Jasprit Bumrah, Trent Boult, Deepak Chahar, and Hardik Pandya as their leading pacers. It’s a special pace quartet for MI that is so well suited for home matches at Wankhede. The trio of Jasprit Bumrah, Trent Boult, and Deepak Chahar if fit and healthy will be the most difficult trio to play in powerplay overs. But barring injury concerns, there is nothing that MI will have to worry about.

So, that’s about the ranking and rating for the best pacers for all 10 teams for IPL 2025.
