IPL 2025 Best Predicted Playing 11 for Mumbai Indians (MI)
Hardik Pandya to lead a strong squad in our best predicted playing 11 for Mumbai Indians (MI) for IPL 2025.
Five-times Indian Premier League Champions, Mumbai Indians have been off-radar in the last few years in the IPL. The team last won the IPL trophy in 2020, but since then, the team finished 5th in IPL 2021, 10th in IPL 2022, Playoffs in IPL 2023, and 10th in IPL 2024. It has kind of been a roll-a-coster ride for the MI team, and it led to a Captaincy change in 2024, but they still finished 10th.
Come 2025, the MI team shall be led by Hardik Pandya once again even as the Indian national team captains in three formats are Suryakumar Yadav in T20Is, Rohit Sharma in ODIs, and Tests in Jasprit Bumrah (In Rohit’s absence). The team retained all these four players, and also added Tilak Varma among retentions; thus making a solid Indian core. However, the team neither retained any Overseas player, nor added them back in the Auction.
The IPL 2025 will see a revamped Mumbai Indians side with all 7 Foreign players being new ones. The team also added local talents such as Naman Dhir, Robin Minz, Raj Bawa, Arjun Tendulkar, Deepak Chahar, and Karn Sharma. With a solid 7 Foreign players in the side, the existing star power of senior Indian players, and local talent in the team, let’s look at the best predicted playing 11 for Mumbai Indians (MI) for IPL 2025.

IPL 2025 Mumbai Indians Best Predicted Playing 11
Openers
If we observe the Mumbai Indians squad, Rohit Sharma is sure to open the innings for yet another time. However, the team let go of their long-time opener, Ishan Kishan, and they added Ryan Rickelton as the only second-choice opener in the squad. However, Mumbai Indians will face the problem of Overseas players’ combination if they decide to select Ryan Rickelton as their second opener.
If MI select Ryan, who is still an emerging prospect, the team can rest Robin Minz, but will have to play only two from Will Jacks, Mitchell Santner, and Allah Ghazanfar. Now, resting Minz isn’t a problem, but selecting only two from Jacks, Santner, and Allah can be a big issue. With Trent Boult as the fourth Overseas option, the other three players bring unique qualities to the table. So, the ideal batting order for Mumbai Indians will be Rohit Sharma and Will Jacks opening, and playing Robin Minz as the wicket-keeper and finisher at 6 or 7.
Middle-order
Coming to middle-order, Mumbai Indians have a settled combination with Tilak Varma, Suryakumar Yadav, and Hardik Pandya in the mix. All three are a part of MI’s Indian core, and have done really well for the team. With a solid opening combination, and a settled and experienced middle-order, Mumbai Indians have one of the best batting orders in the Indian Premier League.
Lower-order
While MI have a solid top 5, their main problem starts from here with an inexperienced lower-order. The team does have batting depth till 9, but it is the inexperience of Naman Dhir and Robin Minz that can cause an issue. The team’s ideal batting lineup will see Naman Dhir as a floater, Robin Minz as the finisher, and Mitchell Santner and Deepak Chahar adding to the batting depth of the MI team.
Bowling Line-up
Finally, coming to the bowling lineup, there is quality in plenty here. MI have one of the best powerplay bowlers in the competition in the form of Jasprit Bumrah, Trent Boult, and Deepak Chahar. It will be a nightmare for the opposition if they play at Wankhede, and there is lateral movement up front. Aside from these three, MI have two solid spinners in the side in the form of Mitchell Santner and Allah Ghazanfar. Supporting these five are Hardik Pandya and Will Jacks as part-time options.

IPL 2025 Alternate Best Playing 11 for Mumbai Indians (MI)
The Mumbai Indians team, if at all, face any issue with their playing 11, it will be the selection of the best four Overseas players. Ideally, the team should play Will Jacks, Santner, Allah, and Boult as shown above. But just in case, they decide to select Rickleton, the team will have to drop Allah, and play Will Jacks in the middle-order. The only issue with this is Tilak, SKY, and Haridk will have to play out of their usual comfortable positions. Whereas in place of Allah, the MI team will have to play either Karn Sharma, Arjun or Raj Bawa.
So, that’s about the best predicted playing 11 for Mumbai Indians (MI) for IPL 2025. Overall, Mumbai Indians have a solid playing 11 for IPL 2025. The team has all the ingredients to enter the top 4, and if luck favours them, the team can well have their hands on their sixth IPL trophy. However, the only issue with the team is the inexperienced lower-order. It will be interesting how Captain Hardik plays a role here as he can very well do a selfless MS Dhoni here, and keep the team first.
