IPL 2025 Best Retained Squad Players List for Gujarat Titans (GT)
Gujarat Titans have 4 players under the radar as we look at the IPL 2025 Retained players best list scenarios for GT.
The 2022 IPL champions, Gujarat Titans have had a unique setup in the last tournament. After Hardik Pandya’s surprising trade to Mumbai Indians, Shubman Gill led the team with an eye on the future. While Gujarat Titans finished as the winners in 2022 and Runner-up in 2023, the team didn’t have a good outing in 2024 by finishing eighth.
Nevertheless, the focus for Gujarat Titans management now shifts to the IPL 2025 player retentions. The team has moved on from Hardik Pandya, but they still have a lot of quality players in their side from retentions point of view. With only a few weeks left before teams announce their official retentions, it will be interesting to see what players are under the radar for the final retentions.
So, as we wait for the official announcement, let’s in the meantime look at the possible scenarios for Gujarat Titans when it comes to their retained players for IPL 2025. As usual, we will look at the five scenarios for player retentions. IPL 2025 Gujarat Titans (GT) Retained Players List – Different Scenarios
Scenario One – 4 Players Retained
The first scenario where we are talking about four retained players, the decision-making will be the simplest form. Unless for some calamatic distortion, Gujarat Titans shall without any doubt retain Shubman Gill as the first-choice option, followed by Rashid Khan, Mohammed Shami, and Sai Sudharsan. These four have been the most consistent performers for GT, and every player brings a unique dimension to the table. So, expect GT to retain these four players if only 4 retentions are allowed.
Scenario Two – 5 Players Retained
Talking about the second scenario where we are looking at 5 players, Gujarat Titans may have to think it through. The Team has the likes of Rahul Tewatia, David Miller, Noor Ahmad, Mohit Sharma, Vijay Shankar, Shahrukh Khan, and Sai Kishore among probables. But if only one players has to be selected from this, GT may most-likely opt for the match-winner Rahul Tewatia. Tewatia has been a solid player for GT, and even with his diminishing returns in 2024, he is still a worthy fifth retainer for GT for IPL 2025.
Scenario Three – 6 Players Retained
Finally, talking about the final scenario of 6 retentions, Gujarat may not be in a position to retain another Indian player with four already selected. So, for the sixth player, Gujarat Titans may have to choose an Overseas player, and from the options they have, David Miller looks the best player. Miller has been a match-winner, not just in the IPL, but also at the International level. In case teams are allowed six retentions, no better than David Miller, available from retentions for GT.
