46 players find themselves lucky in our confirmed official retained squad and players list for all 10 teams for IPL 2025.
We are done with the October 31 deadline, and we finally have the list of players that have been retained by all 10 Franchises for IPL 2025. Surely, if we observe the retentions, it can be called as a mixed bag. While there are obvious retentions, many quality players, especially Indians will find themselves in the Auction after their team didn’t press enough confidence to retain them.
Overall, a total of 46 players have been retained ahead of the IPL 2025 Mega Auction. Heinrich Klaasen remains the highest paid player among all retained players for 23 Cr. Whereas Virat Kohli maintains his status quo as the highest paid Indian player for 21 Cr. Overall, only Kolkata Knight Riders and Rajasthan Royals remain the teams to have retained all six players.
All teams were given a provision to retain a maximum of 6 Players including a maximum of 5 capped players. The teams that have not retained 6 players will have an option of using RTM cards on the players that they feel will get their value in the Auction. IPL 2025 Official Retained Players List for Chennai Super Kings (CSK)
- Ruturaj Gaikwad – 18 Cr
- Ravindra Jadeja – 18 Cr
- Matheesha Pathirana – 13 Cr
- Shivam Dube – 12 Cr
- MS Dhoni – 4 Cr
Total Players Retained: 5 // Purse Left: 55 Cr
The first team on the list, the Chennai Super Kings retained a total of 5 players for IPL 2025. The team has retained Ruturaj Gaikwad and Ravindra Jadeja under highest bracket at 18 Cr. CSK then retained Matheesha Pathirana as the third retention for 13 Cr, and Shivam Dube as the fourth retention for 12 Cr. Meanwhile, for the uncapped player category, CSK have retained MS Dhoni for 4 Cr. CSK now have 55 Cr with them, and they have 1 RTM card still available.
IPL 2025 Official Retained Players List for Delhi Capitals (DC)
- Axar Patel – 16.5 Cr
- Kuldeep Yadav – 13.25 Cr
- Tristan Stubbs – 10 Cr
- Abhishek Porel – 4 Cr
Total Players Retained: 4 // Purse Left: 73 Cr
Delhi Capitals revealed a shocker when they announced the non-retention of Rishabh Pant for IPL 2025. With Pant not there, Axar Patel was retained as the highest paid player for 16.5 Cr. Kuldeep Yadav followed Axar at 13.25 Cr, and Tristan Stubbs is the third retained player for 10 Cr. Meanwhile, for the uncapped player, Delhi Capitals retained Abhishek Porel. Delhi Capitals now have 73 Cr left with space for using two RTM cards.

- Rashid Khan – 18 Cr
- Shubman Gill – 16.5 Cr
- Sai Sudharshan – 8.5 Cr
- Rahul Tewatia – 4 Cr
- Shahrukh Khan – 4 Cr
Total Players Retained: 5 // Purse Left: 69 Cr
Gujarat Titans saw Shubman Gill taking a pay cut to accommodate Rashid Khan as the highest paid player for IPL 2025. Rashid Khan is the first retention for GT at 18 Cr. Shubman Gill follows him at 16.5 Cr, and Sai Sudharsan is the third retention at 8.5 Cr. In addition, GT retained two uncapped players, Rahul Tewatia and Shahrukh Khan for 4 Cr each. GT now have a 69 Cr purse left with one RTM card available.
IPL 2025 Official Retained Players List for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR)
- Rinku Singh – 13 Cr
- Varun Chakravarthy – 12 Cr
- Andre Russell – 12 Cr
- Sunil Narine – 12 Cr
- Harshit Rana – 4 Cr
- Ramandeep Singh – 4 Cr
Total Players Retained: 6 // Purse Left: 51 Cr
One of the only two teams to have retained all 6 players, KKR shocked everyone when their title-winning Captain, Shreyas Iyer wasn’t retained. However, with an exponential rise in salary, Rinku Singh has been retained as the highest-paid player at 13 Cr. Whereas Russell, Narine, and Chakravarthy have been retained for 12 Cr. In the uncapped players category, KKR retained Harshit and Ramandeep for 4 Cr. KKR now have 51 Cr with them as they lost 12 Cr given the blocked amount for retaining four capped players was 61 Cr.
IPL 2025 Official Retained Players List for Lucknow Super Giants (LSG)
- Nicholas Pooran – 21 Cr
- Mayank Yadav – 11 Cr
- Ravi Bishnoi – 11 Cr
- Mohsin Khan – 4 Cr
- Ayush Badoni – 4 Cr
Total Players Retained: 5 // Purse Left: 69 Cr
LSG made a bold statement after announcing their retentions. The team owner, Sanjeev Goenka said they need players who were least worried about individual milestones, and could express themselves more. That’s the reason, KL Rahul wasn’t retained by the franchise. Without KL Rahul, Pooran remains their highest-paid player for 21 Cr. The team then retained two Indian players, Ravi Bishnoi and Mayank Yadav for 11 Cr each. Finally, the team also retained two uncapped players, Mohsin Khan and Ayush Badoni for 4 Cr each. LSG now have 69 purse with a space for 1 RM card.

- Jasprit Bumrah – 18 Cr
- Hardik Pandya – 16.35 Cr
- Suryakumar Yadav – 16.35 Cr
- Rohit Sharma – 16.3 Cr
- Tilak Varma – 8 Cr
Total Players Retained: 5 // Purse Left: 45 Cr
Mumbai Indians remain the only franchise to have retained all 5 capped Indian players. The team once again highlighted the importance of a strong core, and the players who put loyalty above anything else. MI retained Jasprit Bumrah as the highest-paid player for 18 Cr. Hardik and SKY were then retained for 16.35 Cr. Whereas Rohit Sharma was retained for 16.3 Cr. Finally, MI retained Tilak Varma for 8 Cr. Surprisingly, MI didn’t retain any uncapped player when they had the opportunity to retain Nehal Wadhera or Naman Dhir.

- Shashank Singh – 5.5 Cr
- Prabsimran Singh – 4 Cr
Total Players Retained: 2 // Purse Left: 110.5 Cr
Punjab Kings seem to be the most logical team when it comes to IPL 2025 player retentions. The team retained only two uncapped players, Shashank Singh and Prabsimran Singh. PBKS now have the highest purse for the Auction, 110.5 Cr, and can also potentially use 4 RTM cards.

- Sanju Samson – 18 Cr
- Yashasvi Jaiswal – 18 Cr
- Riyan Parag – 14 Cr
- Dhruv Jurel – 14 Cr
- Shimron Hetmyer – 11 Cr
- Sandeep Sharma – 4 Cr
Total Players Retained: 6 // Purse Left: 41 Cr
One of the two teams to have retained all six players, RR’s retentions felt quite surprising given the choice of players, and the salary that was offered. RR retained Sanju Samson and Yashasvi Jaiswal for 18 Cr. The team offered Riyan Parag 14 Cr. But Dhruv Jurel getting 14 Cr was also surprising. While the negotiation with Buttler could have been better as Hetmyer getting 11 Cr above Buttler also felt surprising. Finally, RR retained Sandeep Sharma as the uncapped player for 4 Cr. RR now have the least purse for the Auction at 41 Cr.

- Virat Kohli – 21 Cr
- Rajat Patidar – 11 Cr
- Yash Dayal – 5 Cr
Total Players Retained: 3 // Purse Left: 83 Cr
The RCB team might be one of the potential benefitters of the RTM card as the team retained only three players. The team retained Virat Kohli for 21 Cr, Rajat Patidar for 11 Cr, and Yash Dayal for 5 Cr. RCB now have a solid 83 Cr for the Auction kitty, and can use 3 RTM cards in the Auction.
IPL 2025 Official Retained Players List for Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH)
- Heinrich Klaasen – 23 Cr
- Pat Cummins – 18 Cr
- Abhishek Sharma – 14 Cr
- Travis Head – 14 Cr
- Nitish Reddy – 6 Cr
Total Players Retained: 5 // Purse Left: 45 Cr
The SRH team made history by retaining Heinrich Klaasen for 23 Cr – the highest salary that has been offered among all players. Overall, the team retained a solid core With Cummins getting 18 Cr, Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma getting 14 Cr. For the fifth player, SRH retained Nitish Reddy for 6 Cr. However, SRH didn’t bother retaining any uncapped players. SRH now have 45 Cr in their Auction kitty.
