IPL 2023: Comparing the Best of Youth vs Old Players 11

Yashasvi Jaiswal and Faf du Plessis, the most exciting as we look at the young vs experienced players 11 of IPL 2023.

The IPL 2023 is currently in the most important phase of the tournament, the business end. All teams have played around 11-12 games, and are preparing to have a shot at the Playoffs. As of Match 62, only Gujarat Titans have officially qualified for the Playoffs, while only Delhi Capitals and SRH have been eliminated.

With the inception of the Impact player rule, the IPL 2023 has been a mixed bag when it comes to player performances. While usually we see solid performances from a lot of experienced  Indian and foreign players, 2023 has seen some solid performances from a lot of young Indian and foreign talent.

It’s an interesting scenario to analyze the performance of players with respect to their experience. Ideally, less than 25 seems to be the age for young and promising players. But 25 to 30 isn’t that much experienced either. Whereas above 30 is considered to be experienced. So, in order to have a fair comparison, we shall consider 30 as the age limit.

To select the players, we shall consider the players who have been performing superbly in IPL 2023 before the 62nd match of IPL 2023. We shall select the players with at least 5 bowling options, 1 wicket-keeper, and at least 4 pure batters. Alright then, let’s look at IPL 2023 Young vs Experienced Best players 11 Comparison.

Top-order:

Team Young 11: Shubman Gill, Yashasvi Jaiswal & Ruturaj Gaikwad

Team Experienced 11: Faf du Plessis, Devon Conway & Virat Kohli
