IPL 2022 GT vs RR Final: Predicted Fantasy Playing 11 for both the Teams

IPL 2022 GT vs RR Final: Gujarat Titans and Rajasthan Royals clash in the final as we look at the predicted fantasy playing 11 for both teams.

After witnessing 73 Matches and 64 days of non-stop Cricketing action, the IPL 2022 has finally come down to the two finalists, Gujarat Titans and Rajasthan Royals, who would play the much-coveted final on May 29. Royal Challengers Bangalore did play spirited cricket in the Playoffs, but RR were a touch better to maintain the nerves and qualify for the Finals.

The Final would be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, which also happens to be the home ground for the first finalists, Gujarat Titans. Statistically, NaMo stadium is the biggest stadium in the world in terms of seating capacity, and given the construction of the ground and pitches, we often see good value for money cricket.

Both the teams are high on confidence going into the Finals. While Gujarat Titans won the qualifier 1 with an empathetic win over the same opponent, Rajasthan Royals, the Rajasthan Royals on the other hand are coming off a dominating win over the Royal Challengers Bangalore. With Narendra Modi Stadium promising an enthralling contest, expect both the teams to come out all guns blazing.

IPL 2022 GT vs RR Predicted Playing XIs for Both Teams

Gujarat Titans may not go unchanged in the final match. There could be a question mark on Mathew Wade’s place in the final 11 given his ineffectiveness in whatever opportunity he has got in the tournament so far. However, he did decent in Qualifier 1 scoring almost run-a-ball 35. Will that be enough for him to save his place? Well, we will have to find it out, but it seems Gujarat may want to persist with him for one more time.

Secondly, Gujarat are for sure going to replace Alzarri Joseph with Lockie Ferguson. This move of removing Lockie for the all-important Qualifier 1 was itself questionable. Given that Alzarri went for plenty in the 2 overs he bowled in the Qualifier 1, Hardik and Gujarat may not want to take another risk in the all-important finale.

From the team standpoint, Wriddhiman Saha and Shubman Gill need to give the valuable start they had been giving in the tournament so far. If they give a good start, the form of Hardik and David Miller is a plus for them. In addition, Mohammed Shami and Yash Dayal need to step up in the bowling department.

Shubman Gill, Wriddhiman Saha (WK), Matthew Wade, Hardik Pandya (C), David Miller, Rahul Tewatia, Rashid Khan, R Sai Sudarshan, Lockie Ferguson, Mohammed Shami & Yash Dayal

Unlike Gujarat Titans, Rajasthan Royals may go unchanged. None of their players is facing a selection dilemma, and that means Rajasthan Royals will continue their winning momentum.  However, from the team standpoint, Rajasthan Royals would need their captain Sanju Samson to step up in the finale clash.

As we know, Jos Buttler has scored 89 and 106 runs in the two Playoffs innings so far. If the Law of averages is to be considered, Jos Buttler may not have a very good outing. Hence, it would come down to Sanju Samson, who may have to play a captain’s knock to get his team closer to the title.

Rajasthan Royals would also need their prime spinner, Yuzvendra Chahal to come back to form. In the two Playoffs matches he has played so far, he hasn’t had a very good outing. In Qualifier 1, Chahal registered figures of 0/32, and in the Eliminator, he registered figures of 0/45. Surely, RR expect their prime spinner to perform better.
