IPL 2020 Exclusive: Complete List of Stats for Matches in UAE
Kings XI Punjab and Glenn Maxwell, the stand-out performers as we look at the complete list of stats for all IPL 2020 matches in UAE.
The COVID-19 pandemic isn’t showing signs of slowing down, and that has created two big news in the world of Cricket. The bad news is that T20 World Cup 2020 has been postponed to 2022. However, the good news is that it has opened a window for IPL 2020 given the conduct of the latter event being easier with the pandemic.
Following that, the BCCI chairman, Brijesh Patel has now confirmed that the IPL would take place in the Sep-Nov window in UAE with September 19 being the start date, and November 10 being the day of the final. The news was officially confirmed by Jay Shah, Honorary Secretary @BCCI
IPL History in UAE:
This is not the first time IPL would take place in the UAE. Back in 2014 when Central Elections were supposed to take place in India, BCCI had scheduled the first 20 matches of IPL 2014 in UAE owing to security issues.
The tournament had some unique memories as IPL 2013 champions, Mumbai Indians were unable to win a single match from a total of 5 matches that they played Whereas, Kings XI Punjab, who had never qualified for a final before IPL 2014 won all their 5 matches.
Talking about UAE, the land is also full of nostalgic memories, and is known for producing some of the most intense performances including the greatest ever, Desert Storm knock by Sachin Tendulkar in Sharjah. With IPL 2020, BCCI would be playing the entire tournament there, and that should add up for plenty of exciting memories.
While we wait for IPL to kick-start on September 19, we take a look at the complete list of stats for IPL 2020 matches scheduled in the UAE.
