India vs Australia Pink-Ball Adelaide 2nd Test Playing 11 Revealed

Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill set to return in our India vs Australia 2024 pink-ball Adelaide 2nd Test best playing 11 for both teams.

After suffering a shocking 3-0 whitewash against New Zealand at home, the Indian team began the Australian tour with a completely opposite result. While the first inning of the first Test match saw India getting bundled out for just 150 runs, it was only upwards for the Indian team from there as they registered a thumping victory. With that the Indian team now leads the 5-match Test series 1-0.

Five matches in a Test series is going to be the new normal going forward in the World Test Championship for the Big 3, India, England, and Australia. With such a big series, the focus will now shift to the much-awaited Pink-ball Test match at Adelaide. Almost every Indian is familiar with the word pink-ball. The last time India played the pink-ball Test match in Australia, it was a nightmare for the Indian team, and for all the Indian fans as the team was bundled out for just 36 runs.

However, unlike last time at Adelaide, India will go into the Test match with much confidence. The team looks settled in all areas, and the team will gain much confidence with their two star players set to return. For Australia, it will be an important match as a loss here will make their WTC qualification difficult. So, with less than a couple of days to go for the match, let’s look at the official squad and best playing 11 for India vs Australia 2024 pink-ball Adelaide 2nd Test match.

Team India will be in a big dilemma not only in terms of their playing 11, but also in terms of batting-order. Two of their first-choice players, Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill are set to return for the 2nd Test match. With these two additions, the only players that will unfortunately have to make way for Rohit and Gill are Devdutt Padikkal and Dhruv Jurel. It’s unfortunate to lose these two youngsters, but they will have to make this sacrifice.

But the important question remains where will these two batters bat? Ideally, Rohit Sharma plays the role of an opener, and Shubman Gill bats at 3. But given KL Rahul’s success as an opener, will he be asked to once again play in the middle-order? Well, this is a very difficult dilemma, the answer for which even Rohit Sharma would want to give. But for the betterment of the team, Rohit will have to sacrifice his opening position, and play at number 5 or 6 position.

If this happens, which ideally should then KL Rahul and Yashasvi Jaiswal will open the batting. Shubman Gill should be back to his usual number 3 position. Virat Kohli should play at 4, Rohit Sharma at 5, Rishabh Pant at 6, Nitish Reddy at 7, and Washington Sundar at 8. For the pace bowling, India should continue with the same pace trio of Harshit Rana, Mohammed Siraj, and champion Jasprit Bumrah.
