If there is one category of players that has been affected the most ahead of the tournament, it is the bowlers. In unfortunate circumstances, a lot of players, especially bowlers have been ruled out of the tournament due to injuries. Australia lost as many as three quality bowlers. Similarly, India, New Zealand, Afghanistan, and South Africa lost one of their key bowlers. With so many bowlers missing, the team balance might have gone for a toss. 

The ICC Champions Trophy 2025 should still feature a total of 66 bowlers in the tournament that are either pure bowlers or all-rounders. Afghanistan, India, and New Zealand have the most 9 bowlers in their side. Whereas South Africa have the least 7 bowlers in their side. Some of the quality bowlers spread among 10 teams include Shaheen Afridi, Kagiso Rabada, Mohammed Shami, Rashid Khan, Jofra Archer, etc.

There is a saying that a tournament is won by a team that has a good bowling attack. This is a true statement, and with so many quality bowlers missing, the team that has been least affected by the loss of their bowlers might progress well in the competition. So, which team has the best bowling attack for Champions Trophy 2025 if you look at the official squad list? Afghanistan is a team that has many quality bowlers in their side. A spin-dominant team has Rashid Khan, Noor Ahmad, Nangyal Kharote, and Mohammad Nabi as quality spinners in the side. Aside from this, Afghanistan have Fazalhaq Farroqi, Azmatullah Omarzai, Fareed Ahmad, and Glabadin Naib among quality pacers.

Australia have been severely affected by injuries, and as many as four first-choice bowlers have been ruled out for Australia. Among their first-choice bowlers, Mitchell Starc, Pat Cummins, Josh Hazlewood, and Mitchell Marsh have been ruled out. With so many quality bowlers out, Australia are almost playing a B bowling side. Australia should mostly see Sean Abbott, Aaron Hardie, Adam Zampa, Spencer Johnson, and Glenn Maxwell as their primary bowlers.

Bangladesh have a decent bowling attack, and their pacers are of good quality. They should mostly see Mustafizur Rahman, Taskin Ahmed, and Tanzim Sakib as their first-choice pacers. Aside from these three, we should see Mehidy Miraz and Mahmudullah as the spinners supporting the team.

England have a decent bowling attack with Jofra Archer, Adil Rashid, and Mark Wood being their leading bowlers. With these three, the England team should see the likes of Liam Livingstone, Brydon Carse, and Jamie Overton as the other bowlers in the side. It’s a decent attack with too much dependency on Adil Rashid, Jofra Archer, and Mark Wood.

Team India suffered a big blow when the world’s best pacer, Jasprit Bumrah was ruled out of Champions Trophy 2025. Without Bumrah, the bowling looks toothless. Also, such is the management under Gautam Gambhir that barring the none three all-rounders, Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja, and Axar Patel, none of the bowlers seem to be guaranteed to have a spot in the playing 11. Ideally, India should play Mohammed Shami, Kuldeep Yadav, and Arshdeep Singh as the first-choice bowlers.

 The New Zealand team lost Ben Sears ahead of the competition. However, the team still has good quality with the likes of Mitchell Santner, Matt Henry, Will O’Rourke, Lockie Ferguson, and Rachin Ravindra. It’s a consistent bowling attack that New Zealand have been playing for quite some time now. 

Champions Trophy 2025 Full Bowlers List for Pakistan

4. Abrar Ahmed
5. Haris Rauf
6. Mohammad Hasnain

The Pakistan team has a strong bowling attack, and should see the likes of Shaheen Afridi, Naseem Shah, Haris Rauf, and Abrar Ahmed as the leading bowlers with support from Salman Agha and mostly Khusdil Shah. However, with Harish Rauf not a confirmed starter as seen in the recent tri-series, we should see Faheem Ashraf as the third pacer.

South Africa lost Anrich Nortje ahead of the competition due to injury. But even without Nortje, South Africa have a brilliant bowling attack with the likes of Marco Jansen, Kagiso Rabada, Keshav Maharaj, Tabraiz Shamsi, and Wiaan Mulder being present. The team can alternate between Tabraiz and Lungi depending on the pitch they are playing on.
