Finally!! After a delay of almost 3 weeks, the official squad for all 8 teams for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 have been announced. While Afghanistan, Australia, Bangladesh, England, New Zealand, and South Africa stuck to the Jan 12 deadline, India delayed the announcement by a week, and Pakistan delayed the announcement by almost 3 weeks. But we finally have the official squad for all 8 teams for the ICC Champions Trophy.
While 120 players shall be participating in the tournament, there are doubts about the fitness and injury concerns for 3 players. On paper, Mitchell Marsh and Anrich Nortje have already been ruled out. Whereas Jasprit Bumrah will need to prove his fitness in the upcoming ODI Series vs England. If Bumrah doesn’t make it, Harshit Rana will take his place. Meanwhile, there have not been any replacements named for Marsh and Nortje.
The Champions Trophy, which is returning to the force after a gap of almost 8 years will see 8 champion teams competing against each other for 15 matches in general. To recall, Pakistan had won the ICC Champions Trophy 2017 with India finishing as the Runner-up.
