IPL 2020 – CSK vs SRH Match Preview:

It is match 14, and we have the two bottom-ranked teams taking on each other. To be honest, while writing this article I had never imagined that Chennai Super Kings would be the bottom-ranked team having lost 2 out of three matches. I know it Is difficult to digest it, but it is a fact.

What wrong has Chennai Super Kings done so far to deserve the bottom rank? If we analyze, part of that reason goes to the absence of key players like Suresh Raina, Harbhajan Singh, Ambati Rayudu, and Dwayne Bravo. But, the main reason which everyone would agree is the team selection, and lack of intent in the chase.

CSK played with only 5 bowlers in all 3 matches, and 1-2 bowlers in each match were taken apart. This could have been avoided had they played a sixth bowler. Secondly, MS Dhoni’s lack of intent in the chase, and inconsistent batting-order has been the main reason why CSK hadn’t done well so far.

Sunrisers, on the other hand, would be slightly relieved with a win in their third game after two successive losses. While middle-order still remains a question for SRH, their bowling has been consistent as ever. On slow and pitches, SRH would benefit a lot with superb bowling.

IPL 2020 CSK vs SRH Predicted XIs:

Ambati Rayudu and Dwayne Bravo are declared fit, and ready to play the next match against Sunrisers. If that is the case, Murali Vijay and Josh Hazlewood are most-likely to miss out for sure. However, with the addition of Bravo, CSK might be tempted to play an extra bowler, which they desperately need.

IPL 2020 CSK vs SRH – Chennai Super Kings Predicted 11:

Shane Watson, Faf du Plessis, Ambati Rayudu, Kedar Jadhav, MS Dhoni (C&WK), Dwayne Bravo, Sam Curran, Ravindra Jadeja, Deepak Chahar, Shardul Thakur / Ruturaj Gaikwad, and Piyush Chawla.

After their stunning win against Delhi Capitals, SRH may not want to change their winning combination. Hence, expect them to go unchanged.

IPL 2020 CSK vs SRH – Sunrisers Hyderabad Predicted 11:

David Warner (C), Jonny Bairstow (WK), Manish Pandey, Kane Williamson, Priyam Garg, Abdul Samad, Abhishek Sharma, Rashid Khan, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Khaleel Ahmed, and T Natarajan.

Key Player Selections:

Batsmen: David Warner, Faf du Plessis, and Manish Pandey

It’s been three matches, and we are yet to see a David Warner special knock. While you cannot compare his current form with what it was in 2019, he still looks in good touch. The pitch in Dubai is generally a good batting wicket, hence it SRH bat first, expect Warner to do well.

Faf du Plessis has been CSK’s best batsman so far having scored in all the three matches. After a gap of almost a week, Faf would be fresh when he takes the wickets. The kind of touch he is in, expect Faf to do well on this wicket.

Manish Pandey fell to a poor shot in the last match against Delhi Capitals. While SRH middle-order may be boosted by the return of Kane Williamson, Manish needs to own up more responsibility, and he can certainly do that.

All-rounder: Sam Curran

Sam Curran has been the most valuable player for CSK so far. He has adapted his bowling to perfection in UAE pitches, and has played quick cameos in the batting department. If you are looking for a good all-round show, Curran should definitely be your pick.

Bowlers: Rashid Khan, Deepak Chahar, and T Natarajan.

Apart from Jadeja and Curran, who come in the lower-order, CSK have no lefties in the squad. This is a big plus for someone like Rashid Khan, who loves bowling against righties. Spinners have started getting assistance, and Rashid would be the bowler to watch out for tomorrow.

Deepak Chahar hasn’t looked his best so far in the bowling department. But, he is slowly getting into the groove. The gap of 6 days should have given him a chance to relook at this bowling performance. Hence, expect Deepak to do well against SRH.

T Natarajan bowled probably the best death-Overs spell of the Tournament in the match against Delhi. It looked quite refreshing to see him bowl yorkers to perfection. With the kind of confidence, he must have got, expect him to do well tomorrow as well.

Captain & Vice-Captain Pick: David Warner and Faf du Plessis
