IPL 2020 – KKR v SRH Match Preview:

A week has been completed for IPL 2020, and thankfully the COVID-19 pandemic has stayed away from the game. Both, KKR and SRH are winless with both suffering a collapse in their respective first matches. While SRH were comfortable in the driving seat while chasing, KKR were poor with the bat against Mumbai Indians.

Sunrisers Hyderabad were without their star middle-order batsman, Kane Williamson, and the result showed how important his role is to act as a bridge between top-order and finishers. Currently, SRH are relying heavily on their top 3, and the result is they suffered a dramatic collapse. There’s nothing wrong in their bowling though, which is still their strength.

Meanwhile, all the aggressive talks of KKR’s fabulous middle-order comprising of Karthik, Morgan, and Russell was pacified by some below-par batting by all three. While Karthik got a start, Morgan and Russell failed to time the ball. There’s no question of quality, but it is the lack of application that was missing.

IPL 2020 KKR vs SRH Predicted XIs:

Kolkata Knight Riders played a good playing 11 in their first match against Mumbai Indians, and they should most probably retain their same XI. The only question in their playing XI would be the batting-order. While Karthik played as a pseudo opener, would he continue doing that?

IPL 2020 KKR vs SRH – Kolkata Knight Riders Predicted 11:

Sunil Narine, Shubman Gill, Dinesh Karthik (C&WK), Nitish Rana, Eoin Morgan, Andre Russell, Nikhil Naik, Pat Cummins, Kuldeep Yadav, Shivam Mavi, and Sandeep Warrier.

Sunrisers Hyderabad’s playing XI raised some eyebrows as they were a batsman short, and T Natarajan played above Khaleel Ahmed. While Natarajan should retain his place, SRH definitely need fit Kane Williamson back in the squad to solve their middle-order woes. If he isn’t fit then Jason Holder should come-in for him. They also need Priyam Garg batting higher than at 5 or 6.

IPL 2020 KKR vs SRH – Sunrisers Hyderabad Predicted 11:

David Warner (C), Jonny Bairstow (WK), Manish Pandey, Kane Williamson/ Jason Holder, Priyam Garg, Vijay Shankar, Abhishek Sharma, Rashid Khan, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Sandeep Sharma, and T Natarajan.

Top Fantasy Picks:

Batsmen: David Warner, Shubman Gill, and Manish Pandey

David Warner didn’t have a good outing In the first match against RCB. That was a rare sight especially looking at his phenomenal record against RCB. The Captain opener would want to make amendments as not only he would need runs under his belt, but also want his team needs it the most.

Shubman Gill struggled to get going in the first match as he failed to time the ball. There’s no doubt about Gill’s talent. If he spends some time in the middle, he can give you good starts, and big scores; thus good points.

Manish Pandey is SRH’s second-most costliest player. In absence of Williamson, his role becomes the most important one in the middle-order. If there is an early wicket, he is the only player they can telly on. So, you can expect Pandey to do well.

All-rounders: Andre Russell

There were questions on Andre Russell’s fitness in the IPL, and would he be able to bowl. But, he bowled two crucial overs, and took a wicket as well. As an all-rounder, Russell is an asset in any fantasy squad. More importantly, we are yet to see the explosive batting of his.

Bowlers: Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Rashid Khan, and Pat Cummins

The senior pro, Bhuvneshwar Kumar looked in good rhythm in the first match against RCB. This is a good sign for SRH as Bhuvi has been rather dull in the previous two seasons. If he maintains the rhythm, he would only get better.

The Afghan Magician looked slightly off target in the match against RCB. But, never undermine the talent he is. If he gets 2-3 balls in good areas, he can be a potential threat, and can give you those valuable wickets.

Patty Cumminson looked woefully awkward in the first match. So much so that he wasn’t even given the entire four overs. But, never doubt the ability of a quality bowler. Cummins is a star, and a few balls in good areas should do wonders to his confidence.

Captain & Vice-Captain Pick: David Warner and Andre Russell
