CSK and KKR feel competent without Foreigners in our analysis for the best possible Indian players playing 11 for all 10 teams for Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025.

The Indian Premier League 2025 is just a couple of months away with a schedule start on March 21, and most of the Overseas players participating in the tournament are either busy playing different T20 leagues around the world, or International matches. Before the IPL 2025, the teams will be gearing up for the Champions Trophy where almost all quality Overseas players will be playing the tournament.

Overseas players are an integral part of the team. Each team generally selects 6-8 Overseas players in their side, and a maximum of 4 in their playing 11. Given the dependency on Overseas players, teams usually build their playing 11 by having quality Overseas players in their side. However, that doesn’t mean teams don’t focus on having Indian backups in the side just in case anything happens to the Overseas players.

With the tournament always encouraging young Indian blood, we are always witnessing quality young Indian talent. So, in this article, we try to break down the squad of all 10 teams, and find out the playing 11 for each team in case their Overseas players aren’t available. So, let’s look at the best only Indian players playing 11 for all 10 teams for Indian Premier League 2025.

Lucknow Super Giants

LSG  have Aiden Markram, Mitchell Marsh, Nicholas Pooran, and David Miller, as their first-choice Overseas players. Given all four Overseas players are batters, their replacements don’t inspire much confidence. LSG will have to open with Ayush Badoni and Arshin Kulkarni. Whereas the likes of Aryan Juyal and Himmat Singh will also be given an opportunity in this case. With the Pant the only International batter, the rest of the batting looks weak on paper.

RR have Shimron Hetmyer, Wanindu Hasaranga, Maheesh Theekshana, and Jofra Archer as their first-choice Overseas players. Given the side is heavily dependent on Overseas bowlers, they have Akash Madhwal, Kumar Kartikeya, and Yudhvir Charak as their replacements in the bowling department. This shows bowling is a key melting point for RR, and they would definitely need their Overseas counterparts to come good in the bowling department.

With these four not there, we should see Musheer Khan, Suryansh Shedge, Kuldeep Sen, and Yash Thakur as their replacements. In their playing 11 of only Indian players, PBKS have only four capped players, thus highlighting the dependence on uncapped players in their side for IPL 2025.

In their place, Delhi Capitals have Karun Nair, Tripurana Vijay, Sameer Rizvi, and Mohit Sharma as replacements. While Karun Narir is a decent batter, and is in form, Tripurana is still young. However, Sameer Rizvi is more than a potent batter, and Mohit Sharma is still a force in T20s.

Given such a variety of Overseas players in their side, the replacements they have are Angkrish Raghuvanshi, Anukul Roy, Mayank Markande, and Manish Pandey. If you see the Indian replacements, KKR doesn’t have any Indian keeper, which shows they are dependent on De Kock or Rahmanullah Gurbaz for wicket-keeping.

Given the presence of 2 batters and 2 bowlers, GT have decent backups in the form of Anuj Rawat Arshad Khan, R Sai Kishore, and Mahipal Lomror. All four have good IPL experience, so even if GT miss their Overseas players, they have the Indian players to cover up for them.

With such strong Overseas players present, the replacements are more of decent with the likes of Devdutt Padikkal, Swastik Chikara, Rasikh Dar, and Swapnil Singh. As seen from the replacements, RCB are heavily dependent on their Overseas batters, and they don’t have strong replacements as needed.

Mumbai Indians have Will Jacks, Allah Ghazanfar, Mitchell Santner, and Trent Boult as their first-choice Overseas players. Given the focus on Overseas bowlers, MI doesn’t have strong Indian replacements available for them. From the available pool of options, MI have Raj Bawa, Karn Sharma, and Arjun Tendulkar. Surely, MI are heavily dependent on their Overseas bowlers, and if they don’t come good, MI may have a tough time in the tournament.

With such quality already there, the replacements don’t add much confidence. The best they have among Indian players are Atharva Taide, Aniket Verma, Sachin Baby, and Simarjeet Singh. Surely, SRH would not want a drop in performance, or injury concerns for their star Overseas players.

CSK have Devon Conway, Matheesha Pathirana, Sam Curran, and Noor Ahmad as their first-choice Overseas players. As seen from their Overseas players, CSK are dependent on their Overseas bowlers. But do they have the desired Indian replacements? Well, they do have a decent bunch of Indian bowlers, and those are Mukesh Choudhary, Kamlesh Nagarkoti, and Khaleel Ahmed. They may not be great, but certainly have the IPL experience that is needed.
