India vs Pakistan scheduled on February 23rd in our download of the official schedule for the Champions Trophy (CT) 2025.
After a looongggg wait, the International Cricket Council (ICC) on Tuesday, December 25 has officially announced the schedule for the 2025 Champions Trophy. The much-awaited tournament is making a comeback after 8 years, and has seen multiple delays in terms of the official announcement of the schedule owing to the security concerns raised by India, and a wish to not travel to Pakistan to play the tournament.
However, things have now been sorted, and it is now confirmed that the tournament shall govern in a hybrid model with all matches being scheduled in Pakistan, except for Team India’s matches, which shall be played in Dubai. From Pakistan, Karachi, Lahore, and Rawalpindi have been selected as the venues. Whereas outside Pakistan, Dubai shall host all matches of the Indian team.
8 teams will officially play in the tournament which will begin on February 19 with the final being played on March 9. 8 teams have been divided into two groups. Group A includes India, New Zealand, Pakistan, and Bangladesh. Whereas Group B includes Australia, England, South Africa, and Afghanistan. Given the tough qualification process, West Indies and Sri Lanka were unable to participate in the tournament.
Champions Trophy 2025 Highlights
There will be a total of 12 group stage matches – 6 each from Groups A and B. Each team will play the other three teams of the respective group once. Based on the group stage standings, the top 2 teams from each group will qualify for the Semi-finals. While India shall play their semi-final in Dubai if they qualify, Semi-final 2 shall be played in Lahore. There are reserve days for both the semi-finals.
The Grade finale shall be played on March 9 in Dubai or Lahore depending on whether India qualifies or not. Te final will also have a reserve day on Monday. Meanwhile, the blockbuster India vs Pakistan match is scheduled for February 23 in Dubai. Owing to broadcasting ease, all matches shall begin from 2:30 pm IST – thus reflecting the focus on Day-Night matches.
