India vs WI 2022 – 1st ODI Predicted Playing 11 for both Teams
Shikhar Dhawan to lead as we look at the 2022 West Indies vs India 1st ODI best predicted playing 11 for both the teams.
After a successful ODI series conclusion over the England Cricket Team, Team India now move to another ODI assignment. This time, they face a slightly inferior, albeit with a B team. With India’s first-choice captain Rohit Sharma rested for the tour, Shikhar Dhawan shall be leading the side.
Apart from Rohit Sharma, the ODI series vs West Indies shall see India without a lot of key players. As many as five more top players have been rested and two are still in recovery. The likes of Virat Kohli, Rishabh Pant, Hardik Pandya Mohammed Shami, and Jasprit Bumrah have been rested. Whereas KL Rahul and Kuldeep Yadav are still recovering from injuries.
With so many key players not present, India would be fielding a completely new side from the one that played against the England team. Meanwhile, as per the leading cricket website, betway, the odds are with India at 1.33. Whereas for West Indies, the Odds are at 3.00.

Playing 11 for Both Teams:
The absence of Rohit Sharma should prompt India to play backup opener Ishan Kishan alongside another southpaw Shikhar Dhawan. India also have Ruturaj Gaikwad and Shubman Gill as openers, but most-likely, they will have to wait for their turn until the 3rd ODI.
The selection of the middle-order should be interesting for Team India. Sanju Samson fans are shouting from the corner to have him play. Honestly, even after doing well recently, Sanju has been a touch unlucky to miss out on the squad on a lot of occasions owing to stiff competition.
But, as unfortunate as it may sound, Sanju will also have to wait for his chances in this series. The likes of Shreyas Iyer and Deepak Hooda have been waiting to play the ODIs, and these two should feature alongside SKY in the middle order. However, the only way Sanju can play is if India decide to play 7 batters including Jadeja at 7.
For the all-rounder position, India have selected two left-arm all-rounders, Axar Patel and Ravindra Jadeja. But is unlikely that India would field both these players together. With Jadeja playing the vice-captaincy role, India would want him to bat more. So, him playing at 6 and a decent all-rounder Shardul Thakur at 7 seems a good move.
The bowling department should see India selecting three pacers and one front-line spinner. This includes the likes of Mohammed Siraj, Prasidh Krishna, and Arshdeep Singh as pacers. Whereas the spin department shall be handled by the sole spinner, Yuzvendra Chahal.

Please note that the recent developments say Ravindra Jadeja could be rested for the ODI series vs West Indies to safeguard his knee injury. For West Indies, they shall mostly play the same side that played against Bangladesh; except for 1 change. Having included Jason Holder in the squad, the tall all-rounder should replace Keemo Paul. He should play at number 7 with the rest of the line-up remaining the same.
